Prompt 20: Hamper
to hinder or impede in moving, progressing, or acting
Character(s): Ciel Fyth, Malek Fyth (belonging to @holy-halone) Cw: none Word count: 765 Notes: Woo! I finally did a prompt with Ciel! This was literally the first thing I thought of when I saw this word :3 I plan to go back and clean it up as this is just the first draft but I wanted to submit what I had since I finished before the deadline. Set around pre-arr timeline! Enjoy <3
When morning arrived, the rainfall had stopped.
The Fyth siblings were eager to continue their journey through the Shroud, their progress no longer hindered by the violent thunderstorm that had forced them to camp out in the shelter of an old stable the night before. Ciel hadn’t been too enthused to do that as he was never a fan of loud storms but his older brother knew exactly what to do to keep him calm and distracted so that sleep was easy to come by.
With the sun rising again in a clear blue sky, Ciel was back in high spirits. He hummed happily, a few paces ahead of his brother who was occupied with trying to find any sort of sign they were heading in the right direction. Malek didn’t want to admit it out loud but he somehow managed to get them both way off course in his inner panic to find shelter when the storm had suddenly rolled in. The torrent of rain made it difficult to see so Malek picked a direction and ran, hoping to get lucky. Now that it was daylight, he realized with a pang of frustration, they backtracked quite a bit. Gridania hadn’t been too far the last time he had checked a map--if they kept heading north, they were bound to see something familiar.
Malek had just hoped nothing else would prevent their progress nor that his brother would catch on to the fact they may or may not be lost (he really ought to buy a map of the area one of these days). Though even if he knew, the younger didn’t seem to mind it as he continued to bounce along the trail and soak in the sun.
“Ah!” Ciel l came to a sudden halt, his ears flickering a bit. “I hear running water! The river!” He practically skipped forward in eagerness and Malek had to jog a little to keep up. The river meant they were nearly there which brought relief to the older sibling–they hadn’t gone too far off course like he thought they had.
His younger brother came to a stop at the rock, looking at the water and then turning back to his older brother with an eager smile, bouncing on his toes. Malek came to a stop next to him and looking at water below with a frown.
“That’s just great,” Malek huffed as he placed one hand on his hip, and carded the other one through his hair in annoyance. The rainfall had caused the river to rise significantly and there was no sign of a bridge to cross which meant that somehow, the aftermath of the storm still managed to hamper the way forward. “We’ll have to find another way across.”
“That’s okay!” Ciel turned, smiling brightly at his brother. “We can just swim across!” He didn’t wait for Malek to answer the question before slipping off with the intention to dive into the rushing river.
“Hold on,” Malek was quick to catch him, practiced hands reaching out to grab the back of his younger brother’s hood in order to hold him back. “There is no way we are swimming across that,” he pointed at the water to emphasize his point. “Do you see how quickly that water is moving? You’re going to get pulled under, even if you are a strong swimmer.”
“Oh.” Ciel blinked, turning to face his brother with a quizzical look. “Then do we wait another day before continuing on? So long as it doesn’t rain again, I think the water level should go down enough to cross safely…”
Malek didn’t reply right away as his gaze searched the trees nearby, landing on one that had fallen off its stump–most likely due to getting struck by lightning the night before. How convenient. Malek smiled to himself in victory and wordlessly made his way over to the tree. “Ciel, think you could use a little wind magic to get this thing over the river?”
Ciel perked up, pulled from his distracted mutterings to himself, mismatched eyes gazing at his brother in innocent curiosity before landing on the fallen log that Malek was still staring at. A smile spread across his face as he pulled out his white mage staff. “Happy to!”
With the log positioned over the riverbank, Malek and Ciel were able to cross and continue forward, their surroundings slowly becoming more familiar to the older sibling. Gridania wasn’t too far now, they’d reach the City-State by mid-day. He found himself humming quietly along with his brother, finally at ease.

Character info for ffxiv write 2023!
Here is the cast of oc's that will appear in this year's challenge! :3 Kien is always my main focus but I have two new alts that I'd love to introduce/write for because I don't know when to stop making alts in this game without further ado!
Kien Eilath (Main Wol) Half Keeper, Half Seeker Miqo'te from Meracydia (raised in a Keeper tribe)
Closed off but kind, cautious sometimes, impulsive the next, learning to know what it's like to be loved and cared for by others. Will do anything to protect his friends and loved ones. Despite his title as Warrior of Light, he can be a bit aloof and awkward at times but his heart is in the right place and he can really be a goofball when he's around his found family. It's rare to see him angry, but never rare to see him practically asleep on his feet from working too much. Main class: Gunbreaker, dabbles in Bard Profession: Scion of the Seventh Dawn, Warrior of Light
N'noah Wiloh (alt oc, non-wol, doesn't have the echo) Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te from Ul'dah *Is the only oc who shares the same universe as Kien*
Mischievous, a bit of a flirt, will spare no expense to get the information she wants and needs, and will probably talk your ear off if you let her. She isn't one to shy away from a challenge and she isn't afraid to cheat her way out of a situation. While she seems very charismatic and open, there's actually a lot she doesn't like to share for the purpose of just moving on to brighter things. 1/3rd of the Red-head brigade and no, Bastian isn't the leader. Main class: Dancer, dabbles in Monk Profession: Immortal Flames private, former Scion of the Seventh Dawn
Syren Ligeia (alt wol) Half-Elezen, Half-Veena Viera from Ishgard
Hot-tempered and quiet, fiercely loyal, will most likely give you a nod or a one-worded answer half the time. Bluntness and sarcasm are his moods of choice. Despite the fact he looks disinterested, he's actually very observant and driven, and if you stick around long enough, more of his soft-hearted personality will shine through. Main class: Currently a Dragoon but will be Dark Knight by mid-Heavensward Profession: Former Temple Knight, currently the Warrior of Light and a Scion of the Seventh Dawn (though you'd never know as he doesn't like to share that. Bijou is the Warrior of Light, thank you very much)
Ciel Fyth (alt oc, non-wol, has the echo) Rava Viera from the Golmore Jungle
A literal ball of sunshine, (think golden retriever puppy) whose energy knows no bounds. He's extremely loyal, and kind, and will definitely talk your ear off about how great his older brother Malek is. He has a driving need to ensure the happiness of those around him because it's the only thing that keeps him from falling apart from what he had to endure in his past. Main class: White Mage Profession: Traveling healer, soon to be a Scion who accompanies the Warrior of Light with his brother
Atticus Wolfram (alt oc, non-wol, doesn't have the echo) Half-Elezen, Half-Garlean from Garlemald (with very little connection with aether)
Charismatic, Sarcastic, quick-witted, and will definitely flirt with anyone to get his way ("is it really manipulation if you make them feel good about themselves?") He tends to never give the full story as he doesn't like to get close to anyone but all he really wants is to find a place where he can belong. Known as the Raven to some, or an all-around wanted thief to the rest. Oh, and don't piss off his voidsent. (The last guy who did, well, it didn't end well) Main class: Parades as a Gunbreaker to his clients but only a few know that he's a very skilled Reaper Profession: Wandering body-guard/fighter for higher

Does your OC cry at weddings? Did they cry at their own (if they've had one?)
for whoever
1
<Amorous Asks!>
I'd think all of my ocs wouldn't be someone who would cry at a wedding, maybe get a little teary-eyed from how happy they are for their friend but nothing more than that. None of my ocs are married (yet) but Kien is promised to G'raha and while he got teared up when he and Raha exchanged their promise rings (I actually had a prompt I wrote for it in ffxivwrite last year (#shamelessplug), he didn't full on cry. But I am sure he'll cry on his wedding day as he never thought he'd be lucky enough to have someone to love/love him so yeah, he'd cry from happiness :3 N'noah got a little teary-eyed at Saraphina's and Bastian's wedding when she saw her cousin come down the aisle but she didn't full-on cry either. She probably wouldn't cry at her own wedding though. This would be the same for Atticus. (He'd absolutely tear up at a first look or when Shaili comes down the aisle) For Syren, nope, nada. He wouldn't cry at a wedding nor would he cry at his own. Not that he wouldn't be happy, he's just not the type to let himself cry in front of others. Ciel might be the only one who would cry at a wedding/at his own wedding (if he ever gets married) but it would be of course out of happiness and probably during the first dances/speeches. Thank you for the ask @actualanxiousswampwitch :3

Prompt 30: Amity
a friendly relationship
Character(s): Ciel Fyth, Malek Fyth, (belonging to @holy-halone) Elorra Lark, (belonging to @tokki-yue) Y'shtola Rhul, Thancred Waters Cw: none Word count: 1606 Notes: It's the last day! A nice lil wholesome fic to wrap up year 3 of this challenge for me! I finished with Ciel last year and honestly, this word is perfect for finishing with him again! Enjoy! Set in Shadowbringers around the lvl 74/75 quests! (also readmore for length cause oops, this got away from me XD)
It was of course business first when Malek and Elorra were welcomed into Slitherbough. The older Viera knew his younger brother would be here with Y'shtola, the Exarch had told him as much when they arrived but when he didn't see him wandering the camp, he couldn't help but worry. He and his brother had rarely been apart since their village was destroyed--Ciel didn't hold up well if he had to be apart from Malek's side for more than a night back on the Source, he couldn't imagine how well the younger Viera was holding up now since it had apparently been three years since his arrival to the First.
Y'shtola had told him that Ciel was doing just fine on his own but since he wasn't around the camp, he was most likely out on an errand for Runar. Malek had to force himself to keep his calm as Y'shtola explained to them about having to finish translating a text so they could use that to access the Lightwarden of the area but the only problem, it was in the possession of a rather aggressive faction.
“The encampment we seek is to the north, but it would be foolish to simply rush in.” Y’shtola had explained. “There isn’t exactly any amity between the Night’s Blessed and the Children of the Everlasting Dark so we have guards posted at Cleric to keep watch over them…they might be able to provide us some insight into their recent activity and we can decide the best course of action from there.
“But we must tread carefully–there is a chance we may encounter them along the way so stay close and stay alert. They rejoice in dealing death to others, claiming that in doing so they cleanse their victims of sin and usher them unto the sunless seas. I would rather not sully my hands defending myself against such madmen.”
“Wait a moment,” Malek interjected. “Ciel is out there right now by himself with the potential of these ‘madmen’ out there to ambush him?”
“He is more capable than you realize,” Y’shtola said cooly but with a tone of understanding. She had known the brothers for a long time and knew just how protective Malek was toward his younger brother and how much Ciel clung to him like glue. It was endearing to see such a strong relationship between them but the Miqo’te knew three years not by his side had given the younger Viera a much-needed leg to stand on by himself. Malek hadn’t had the chance to see that yet. “Trust me, whether we see him on our trek or not, he’s just fine.”
Malek wasn’t convinced.
The trek to the encampment was short and silent at first but the older Viera couldn’t help the anxiety knawing in his gut when they were ambushed by the Children as they got closer to their destination. There were only two of them so they were easily outnumbered and outmatched between himself and Elorra but they were extremely resourceful and powerful–Malek couldn’t fathom the idea of Ciel being out in the marsh somewhere facing them alone. As they sheathed their weapons, a yelp tore through the marsh and the Viera grew pale.
“Ciel!” Without bothering to wait, Malek dashed off in the direction of where he heard his brother’s voice, his heart pounding in his ears.
“Malek, are you certain?” Elorra asked as she easily caught up and matched pace with the other, Y’shtola and Thancred not too far behind. “That could be any of the guards at the outpost!”
“I know that cry anywhere.” Malek replied. “Dammit, I knew he shouldn’t have been sent out here alone!”
Malek and the others drew their weapons as they got closer to the clearing, the sounds of a fight growing closer. When they broke into the clearing, Malek was fully expecting to see Ciel in danger but instead realized very quickly that his assistance wasn’t needed at all as the last of the ambushers fell to the ground unconscious.
Ciel had his back turned to them so he didn’t quite realize the new company as he lowered his staff and wiped the sweat from his brow with a small sigh of relief. His ears twitched and he turned around, a smile brightening his face as Thancred and Y’shtola arrived, both of them also sheathing their weapons as they realized the threat had passed.
“Malek! Elorra!” The younger Viera wasted no time running toward his brother, wrapping both him and Elorra into a hug. “You’re finally here!”
“Thank goodness you’re unharmed.” Y’shtola smiled as Ciel released the other two and stepped back.
“We would’ve arrived sooner but we also got caught up with some trouble of our own,” Thancred mused as he looked around at six people still out cold on the forest floor. “Though from the looks of it, you did just fine on your own.”
Malek and Elorra exchanged curious looks with one another. “You—you took them all out?” Malek asked before he could stop himself.
“Yep!” Ciel beamed proudly.
“But we heard you yell,” Elorra added on, just as equally speechless as Malek was.
“Oh yeah, they sort of caught me off guard.” Ciel laughed as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. “The Children have been acting strange as of late so I tried to get a closer look, I guess that was a little careless of me. But I’m alright! I’m sorry to have worried you!”
“No, don’t be,” Malek replied sheepishly. “I’m impressed, really.” He exchanged a smile with his brother, feeling a sense of pride but the guilt for doubting him still lingered.
“As much as I would to continue this reunion, we only have so much time before they come around and we've got a mission to finish,” Y’shtola said as she turned to Ciel. “You mentioned that the Children have been strange–what have you seen?”
“Oh right,” Ciel sobered. “They’ve been breeding their venomous spiders in much greater numbers as of late. It stuck out to me because usually they’re just gathering ingredients for poisons from flora and fauna. It almost feels as if they’re preparing for something…”
Thancred frowned. “Any ideas as to what?”
“It could be anything, really.” Y’shtola replied. “If it meant the end of the Blessed, nothing would be too cruel or violent for them.”
“I’ve tried to make peace with them before but, it never really goes well.” Ciel chimed in with a shrug. "Shtola says it's pointless to even try anymore, but maybe one day there can be a friendship between us."
"But today is not that day," Y'shtola clicked her tongue. "We need to figure out a way to sneak in so I can access the tablet they possess so I can finish translating the text."
“Why don't we play their own game?" Elorra suggested. “Take advantage of their present occupation with the spiders and use it against them.”
“Oh! I’ve got it!” Ciel said suddenly. “If we were to introduce a threat to the nests where they keep them, the Children would be compelled to save them. Bees! They’re a natural predator–we set them loose on the nests and that would give us the opportunity to sneak into their encampment.”
“What a mischievous plan, I like it.” Thancred grinned as he ruffled Ciel’s hair. “With a bit of smoke, we should be able to subdue a few colonies long enough to secure their hives. I don’t suppose you have anything to use?”
Ciel smiled, gesturing to trees left of him. “We have smoke bombs at the outpost just over there, Valan and I made them earlier today.”
“Then it’s settled.” Thancred smiled as he rubbed his hands together. “Shtola and I will grab a few smoke bombs from the outpost if you, Malek and Elorra would like to search for beehives–I imagine they won’t take too kindly to your visit but once they’re knocked out, bring them back here and we’ll set the plan in motion. Two should suffice.”
With the next steps in place, the small group departed in different directions to go about their tasks. Malek hung back with Ciel for a few extra moments to finish his reunion with his brother.
“You know, I was worried,” Malek began as he stood by his brother’s side, looking out into the trees. “When I heard you had been here for three years already after you were spirited away, I thought you’d be in bad shape–but now seeing you kick some serious arse just now, it seems I owe you an apology for doubting you.” He turned to look at his brother who was listening calmly, a smile crossing his face. “Looks like you’re just fine on your own now, you don’t need me, do you?” he chuckled fondly.
“I’ll always need you,” Ciel chuckled as he playfully shoulder bumped his brother. “I just don’t need to rely on you as much anymore is all. The three years spent with ‘Shtola in Slitherbough really helped me learn how to handle myself better.”
“Is that so?” Malek replied, the sense of pride overwhelming him as he reached over to ruffle his brother’s hair affectionately. “I’m proud of you little brother and I’m happy to see you again.”
Ciel laughed softly and leaned into the touch. “Me too.”
He was still beaming as Malek pulled his hand away and they turned to face each other, a small quiet moment passing between them.
“Now c’mon,” Malek said. “We’ve got some beehives to find and some chaos to create.”
“Right!” Ciel laughed as they began the trek through the marsh once again.

Prompt 21: Grave
a place of burial, typically a hole dug in the ground and marked by a stone or mound.
Character(s): Ciel Fyth Cw: mentions of death Word count: 983 Notes: Two days in a row for Ciel! This takes place immediately after the events in ARR when the Waking Sand gets attacked. Malek and Elorra were not there, Ciel was. This is the aftermath. It's a little bit of a drabble that I am definitely going to go back and reword but again, this is the first draft that I wanted to submit. For context, Ciel has gone mute and uses sign language to communicate with his brother. I tried my best to explain it but just in case, I figured I'd lay it out plainly here. Anyway for now, please enjoy some angst. :3 /runs/
Not even two bells after the attack on the Waking Sands, Ciel found himself assisting with the digging of the graves for his fallen comrades.
When he was found by Elorra, he was told he was in some sort of shock but he couldn’t really recall what had happened the moments beforehand. He just knew that something horrific had happened and he blocked it out.
Elorra had brought him to the Chapel near Camp Dry Bone and they both waited for Malek to arrive. He was panicked as he had seen the attack unfold through his echo vision and had hugged Ciel so tightly out of relief. Ciel thought he’d cry then but he hadn’t.
The head of the church insisted that he rest as Malek and Elorra returned to the Waking Sands to retrieve the bodies but Ciel found that he couldn’t do that. So he instead went out to assist with the digging of the graves and helping lay the bodies to rest as they were brought to the church. It was a need. He had to do this for them because he survived and they didn’t. It was the only way he knew how to cope, just as it had been when his village was attacked all those years ago.
It took the better part of the afternoon before the final grave was dug and the final body was laid to rest. It was only a small handful of graves but to Ciel, it was far too many. Those people had been his comrades, his fellow Scions, his new friends. They had all been enjoying each other’s company and then just like a candle being blown out, they were gone.
He inhaled a shaky breath as he came to rest under the shade of a nearby tree. There was a heaviness in his chest that was becoming too much but he still couldn’t find the energy to cry. His gaze looked out over each of the graves before him, his hands clutching the bouquet of flowers Elorra had brought for him tightly. This was always the hard part.
One by one he went to each mound of dirt and placed a lily on top. He did this task silently and slowly, recalling each name and face of the fallen as he went. By the time he reached the last grave, the heaviness in his chest became too much and he collapsed with sobs, the memory of everything rushing back in a sickening haze.
He could their screams, their pleas for mercy. He could hear the imperials barreling through each doorway as they sought their prize, taking out anyone who stood in their way. He didn't know how he managed to escape and stay hidden. He wasn't sure why he was allowed to live when his fear kept him rooted in place while they all fought for their lives. It didn't seem fair.
Ciel was unsure how much time had passed before he was able to stop crying. His throat was raw, his eyes itchy as he slowly began to uncurl from within himself. He slowly sat up, his joints stiff, taking note that the sun was beginning to sink into the horizon. A small sniffle escaped him as he stood up and his ears flickered at the crunch of gravel behind him.
Ciel didn't panic. He knew it was his brother coming to check on him. The viera slowly wiped the tears from his eyes with the back of his hand before turning to face his brother with a small watery smile. He hoped he had only just gotten here and hadn't seen him moments before. He had already put him through enough today.
“Elorra said you'd be out here," Malek said quietly as he came to a stop next to him. "Are you ready to go? We should head back."
Ciel felt his throat close up when he tried to verbally respond to the question. He couldn't bring himself to speak. It was too much. He hesitated on a nod instead, looking back out at the mounds, not wanting to leave them but unable to express that thought.
Malek's brow creased in concern, almost as if he knew exactly what Ciel was thinking. This wasn't the first time he'd watch his brother go through something like this but gods, he hoped it would be the last. He turned to face his brother, placing a warm hand on his shoulder, keeping a firm but gentle tone as he spoke. "You need rest Ciel, I know you want to stay but you'll make yourself sick if you stay out here all night. I'm sure they wouldn't want that for you either. I promise we'll come back to visit them and we'll bring them flowers, alright?"
Finally, Ciel met eyes with his brother, slowly releasing a breath. A few stray tears slipped down his cheeks as he nodded again. He still couldn't bring himself to speak so he instead opted to sign back to his brother. ‘You’re right, I’m sorry. Let’s go.’
Malek smiled softly despite the situation. This was at least a good thing to see him signing so soon. After their village had been attacked, Ciel refused to speak or sign for months. He was expecting it to happen again when Elorra expressed to him her worry that he hadn't spoken a word since she had found him. He had told her it would take time and patience. This was how Ciel processed.
“Don’t apologize, I understand," Malek spoke and signed gently. He gave his brother's shoulder a gentle squeeze before releasing it. "We can come back tomorrow after you've gotten some rest, alright kiddo?”
‘Tomorrow then.’ Ciel signed giving his brother another nod with a small smile before turning on his heel to walk side by side with his brother down the path where Elorra was waiting for them.

I would love a Fun Fact about each of your characters, since you're becoming a multi-OC blog!
Ah sure! I’d love to! (°▽°) hmm let’s see;
Kien Eilath (my main Miqo wol) is predominately left handed but when fighting he’s ambidextrous! This is largely because he had to learn to fight with his right hand during the end of ShB because his left shoulder rendered him unable to because of light corruption.
N’noah Wiloh (an alt oc who is also a miqo) is the only oc I have that shares the same universe as Kein! Everyone else is separate. Her fun fact is that she’s an excellent card player but would rather cheat to win because she’s challenged so often she just wants the game to end quickly X3
Syren Ligeia (my other wol who is a viera) was present at Camp Riversmeet during the calamity. He was stationed there with his father when we was still part of the Knights and helped fend off the dragons while dealing with the sudden snow storm from the calamity. He started to experience the echo shortly after that and that incident is what led him to finally leave Ishgard for answers.
Ciel Fyth (alt oc who is a viera) knows sign language! He learned because his older brother’s fiancé was deaf and he wanted to communicate with her. It became more of his way to communicate with his brother often as they traveled, and it was the only way he communicated when he was going through a period of being mute. (Due to trauma ( ´∀`) )
And finally, Atticus Wolfram (an alt oc who is half Garlean, half Elezen) is known as ‘The Raven’ because of the way his voidsent looks when it’s summoned. He’s earned quite the reputation as a reaper even though he doesn’t advertise it and passes as a Gunbreaker to any unknowing person.
Some of them might not have been ‘fun’ facts so to speak XD but it was the first thing I thought of so hopefully this gave some insight! ( ◠‿◠ ) thank you for the ask @ascendedhypothesis <3
#Nico answers#thank you for the ask! <3#I love sharing facts any time any day! :D#random fun fact of my own#my friends and I all have a name for each trio of characters#my fav one is the red head brigade#which is Noah’s oc group XD

🌙 moon: do any of your OCs have dark backstories or secrets they’re trying to keep?
October themed asks!
Ooohh I was hoping someone would ask this! <3
I would say 3 of my 4 oc's fit this in some form: Kien, Noah, and Ciel. (Not so much for Syren as he's pretty much an open book if you ask him and had a rather peaceful backstory, well, as peaceful as it can be in Ishgard. /shrug X3) Anywho!
For Kien, it's a mix of both but not intentionally. His past before arriving in Eorzea was rather unplesant and talking about it to anyone naturally brings painful memories to the surface--he is a lot better in the healing process of it all but he still rather not say anything about his past or how he got his scar unless he has to. Only two people know the truth about his scar and past (including his birth name) and that's G'raha, and his adoptive father Ranald. Anyone else would only find out if it was necessary. (Which unless we venture to Meracydia in near future, he won't deem it necessary)
In N'noah's case, she definitely has secrets she doesn't want anyone to know--but that's mainly the nature of her job as an undercover informant. There are a few secrets about herself that not a lot of people know (like how she can always win at card games spoiler alert she cheats XD) but the biggest one is the fact that she technically owes a debt to the pirate crew she used to work for. (It was occurred by her mother and passed on to her after she died) When she escaped the crew, she vowed to keep that part of her life under wraps for security reasons--she knows she won't be able to run and hide forever but the longer she can delay it, the better.
And as for Ciel, it's similar to Kien in the sense that it's both but he doesn't intentionally keep a secret, he only keeps his secrets because he fears revealing them will bring about painful memories he rather just block out. (Which his nightmares never let him forget) Long story short, his village was attacked when he was about 13 and he and his oldest brother Malek were the only two survivors. The day of the attack was rather traumatic for him and has brought about a lot of his current fears and dislikes (ie fears to be completely alone and cannot stand the absolute silence) and though he is trying to heal and move past that part of his life, he finds it easier to do so when no one makes him talk about his past so he keeps it a secret.
It is technically November for me as I answer this but nonetheless, I loved answering this one c: Thank you @arbiterofthedead for the ask! <3

FFXIV Write 2022 //ffxivwrite info//prompt list//character info//master post//
Prompt thirty: Sojourn | noun: A temporary stay | Word count: 169 Characters: Ciel Fyth, Malek Fyth (belonging to @circusredmage) Cw: none Notes: So technically I have two little drabbles for today cause this was one I had so many possibilities for. This first one is actually for a new alt I just made with my friends so it felt appropriate to wrap up this year’s challenge by introducing him! His name is Ciel and he’s a viera—he’s not a wol but he does possess the echo and travels with the wol in a separate universe from my other ocs (cause I have no self control XD) I’ll post the other later today but this is my last submission for the challenge :3 thank you, everyone, for following along! An afterword is soon to come <3
Since he was thirteen, Ciel did not have a place to call home.
It was something he had once before, a vibrant but small village nestled in the lush trees of the Golmore Jungle but when the Garlean Empire made its roots there, it was soon destroyed and home became wherever he and his older brother Malek could find as they traveled.
They never stayed in the same place for too long—sometimes their sojourns would be an Inn or a nearby cave as they went from one city to the next. They’d pick up odd jobs here and there to make ends meet—Ciel a skilled healer and his brother a talented musician. If they did stay anywhere for more than a day, Ciel knew not to get too comfortable because the new friendly faces he met would soon become distant memories.
The only constant in Ciel’s life was his brother. And as long as he was with him, no matter where they went, he knew he had a home.
